Gaynor Jones: Fussy Eater

Maggie was sautéing organic beets when she saw the commotion from her kitchen window. Figures running to the shoreline. Her son amongst them.

The sea threw up many things, but this time the villagers were truly perplexed. Maggie’s boy edged forward, wiping the hummus from his lips.

The thing was gargantuan. And very pink. With tentacles. And plenty of slime (just in case you were wondering how gross it actually was).

Maggie’s little boy pushed forward to the creature. Then he leaned down and licked it. As his mother fainted, he nodded his approval, and left to finish his sandcastle.
