Many congratulations to Karen Eaketts who has won our first competition of the year for her story ‘On the Run.’ We have sent a gift card of £150 to Karen, and we look forward to awarding additional prizes to writers and artists throughout 2026.

Finally, we are delighted to revive our caption competitions. These have now moved from Twitter to Instagram, but the format remains the same. We give you an illustration, and you send us your caption suggestion in the comments. Each winner receives a book voucher.

Our current caption competition is pinned to the top of our Instagram profile. The deadline is 31st May, so you have plenty of time to come up with a great line. (Terms and conditions can be found in the Instagram post).
